Conversations on Groong: The Global Armenian Summit
Hello
and welcome to the Armenian News Network, Groong.
This
episode was recorded on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
We
are here to talk about the Global Armenian Summit conference that is in
progress this weekend in Yerevan.
Over the course
of this weekend and until Monday, there’s this Global Armenian Summit conference in progress in Yerevan. The event is
organized by the office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, and
invitations went out a few months ago. Reportedly there are 600 attendees according to Armenpress, but probably taken from the conference website.
To talk about
this conference, we are joined by:
Harut Sassounian, who has published The California Courier
newspaper since 1983. He is also the President of the Armenia Artsakh Fund, a
non-profit organization which has delivered to Armenia and Artsakh $947
million of humanitarian assistance since 1989. He is currently engaged in
forming the Diaspora Armenian Parliament through local elections. |
