	Death Leaves

	By Bedros Afeyan

	(To Maurizio Pollini's rendition of
Debussy's 2nd prelude of book II)

	Wake wondrous, wicked and weep
	Stake boldly banal and bleak
	Ecstasy elongated, emergent, evanescing
	Incubated, advertised, origamied
	Uncelebrated, euphemized

	Jelly of gelatinous moonscapes
	Crawling, coveted, concubines
	Bathed in lascivious orthodoxy
	Headdress of puritanical redress
Cream of bras and seething baby powder
Rashes in red moist cavernous folded
	Dreams engulf the wanton John
At the amusement park of oral
	Raindrops of destiny
